More Than an Aquarium

Wise Tides began with a simple belief: that saltwater aquariums can offer more than beauty—they can bring calm, comfort, and a deeper connection to the wonders beneath the ocean’s surface. Based in Seattle, Washington, Wise Tides was founded to share that sense of wonder with others.

A Lifelong Connection to Marine Life

My earliest years fostered a lifelong respect for animals and the balance of their ecosystems. A fascination for marine life grew alongside my early days caring for fish, reptiles, and other small creatures. Those early experiences taught me that thriving systems depend on consistency, patience, and attentive care; core values we pride ourselves by.

The Moment That Sparked Wise Tides

The true turning point came when my uncle brought home a jellyfish aquarium for my aunt, Leslie, who was bed bound with multiple sclerosis. She now had something beautiful to focus on beyond the TV. Watching how marine life could provide comfort and joy inspired me to create aquariums that do more than decorate a space—they bring life, meaning, and a sense of serenity to everyone who experiences them.
