I've always had a deep fascination with nature. The short glimpses of peace, and my deepest understanding of being, come when I find myself studying life out of curiosity and nothing else. Why should I devote my time to anything that makes me feel less? I want to help people reconnect with nature, more importantly I want to help people feel better.
Multiple Sclerosis is an auto immune disease that affects the spinal cord and brain. For many years before I was born, my Aunt fought it, and by the time I was 10, she was constantly in bed, having gone from a cane to crutches in her 50's. Afraid to go out and be seen by the world, she never left home. So, one day, my uncle brought her something to brighten up her day.
Jellyfish, along with sea urchin, squid and octopuses are known as indicator species, meaning they reflect their environments conditions. My uncles first gift were Jellyfish, in a small cylindrical tank, with no filtration. Seahorses and clownfish followed, giving her a chance to experience a beautiful and real side of nature without leaving home.
